A year ago this was our last normal week and nobody knew it.
On March 12, 2020, the coronavirus was confirmed to have reached Kenya, with an initial case reported in the Capital city, Nairobi. The effects of the pandemic blew up our businesses, and many were thrown into a sea of uncertainty.
A year on, it is safe to say we have already been through the worst and with vaccines being deployed we can be optimistic of a better year ahead.
The World is ready to get back to normal and you wouldn’t want to be left behind. This leads us to this question.
Is your brand ready to rise from the ashes?
The decisions you make in this first part of 2021 will have a major impact on how your business navigates out of the pandemic. As one person put it, “It’s not about the business we’ve built, it’s about the business we’re building. What are we going to build next?”
In his book, The Art War, Sun Tzu indicates that” Attack is the secret of defense; defense is the planning of an attack.” or simply put attack is the best form of defense. Now is not the time to play it safe, it is a moment to be bold.
As businesses compete to re-establish customer attention, effective brand management will be the only clear market differentiator. Therefore there has never been a more important time to develop a unique identity and value proposition through strategic rebranding.
Don’t get caught up in what your brand “should be” or what “it should represent.” Businesses are fluid and constantly changing and you have to adapt to the business environment as it changes. Building a brand is essential for any business that aims for utmost success, in addition, maintaining it will ensure it stays relevant as consumer behavior changes.
